Xeomin
What is Xeomin?
Xeomin is a popular cosmetic treatment that can reduce signs of aging in lips, the forehead, and around the eyes and chin.
Xeomin (similar to Botox) is also used to treat common dental issues. Our team at Westerville Dental Associates is specially trained to administer Xeomin injections for any of the following treatments:
- Teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism): Bruxism is a condition in which you grind or clench your teeth. Bruxism can occur while awake or asleep and is a common cause of sleep disorder. People with bruxism are also more likely to have sleep apnea.
- TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain: TMJ is a disorder that causes pain to the muscles in the jaw joint. Causes of TMJ include arthritis, jaw injury, or bruxism. We can treat TMJ pain with mouthguards or Xeomin.
- Migraine headaches: Xeomin has been widely used to treat migraines since being approved by the FDA. It is believed to block the neurotransmitters that carry the pain signals of a migraine to the brain. A Xeomin session typically lasts only 15 minutes and can bring relief in less than two weeks.
- Cosmetic Purposes: Xeomin injections reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, chin, neck, and other places. Cosmetic Xeomin is a safe and effective way of minimizing "bunny lines" and "laugh lines."
Our office is a great place to ensure privacy while Xeomin, similar to Botox, is administered. Treatment can be completed quickly and discreetly.
